MANAGING A 100-YEAR OLD COMPANY
September 9, 2010 -
The Young Business Roundtable is proud to present: “MANAGING A 100-YEAR OLD COMPANY”
Come out to meet Glenn Hashimoto, EVP and General Manager of Suisan Company, Ltd in Hilo. Listen to Glenn explain how he manages a family-owned, 100-year-old company that has transformed from a fish auction company to a multimillion dollar food distributor.
Glenn, who is from and still resides in Hilo, manages a company of over 170 employees which grosses $78 million annually. He uses his nearly 40 years of experience to effective manage everyone from old timers to 18-year-olds, and white-collar to blue-collar workers. Learn how he is able to consistently maintain results even in this economy, keeping Suisan Co., Ltd. in Hawaii Business News’ Top 250 companies (in the State) every year. Along with his service at Suisan, Glenn is a Past President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii & Past Board of Governor Hawaii Employers Council.
Suisan Company, Ltd. is known as a fish company but is much more than that. Suisan is a locally-owned, broadline distributor of food and food-related products to restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, schools, and nearly any kind of food establishment. Its operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and distributes more than 7000 types of products to the island of Hawaii.
