34th Annual Samurai Classic Golf Tournament

Attention all HJJCC Golfers,

Looking for a great opportunity to play golf and network at the same time?

Then this is for you!  The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) also affectionately known as our Senior Chamber is having their 34th Annual Samurai Classic Golf tournament on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Pearl Country Club, 12pm Shotgun.
It’s a great tournament and includes lunch, on-course snacks, ice cold beverages, and dinner at the Awards Banquet.  They also have two exciting Hole in One Prizes (Brand new car and $10,000 cash, player gifts, and team prizes.  This is also a great opportunity to get to meet other business executives in an informal setting.

2011-2012 BOD Election Meeting

Attention HJJCC members,

We will be holding our Election Meeting for the 2011-2012 Board of Directors for the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce on May 27.  More details to follow.

The format for the election will be as follows:

There will be four (4) separate ballots:

1.       Executive Vice President

2.       Community Development, International Relations, Management Development, and Membership Development Vice President

3.       Secretary and Treasurer

4.       Director

Voting is by secret ballot and voting by proxy is not allowed.  A nomination committee has been appointed and nominees for the positions above will be announced shortly along with the details of the Election meeting.

In addition to candidates that are selected by the nomination committee, candidates may also be nominated via petition.  Nomination may be made by petition bearing the signatures of at least ten (10) regular members.  The petition shall be filed with the Secretary no later than one (1) week before the election meeting.

The names of all such nominees, both by petition and nomination committee, shall be included in the official ballots.  In the event a person is nominated, whether by Nomination Committee or by petition, for more than one office, the nominee shall select only one nomination.

Lastly, nominations can also be made from the Floor.  Please see Article IX – Elections: Section 4 for additional details.

A list of nominees will be forthcoming and we have also attached a copy of our bylaws for you to reference.

Kodomo no HI: Keiki Fun Fest

Aloha HJJCC Members,

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai’i (JCCH) will be holding its annual Kodomo no Hi: Keiki Fun Fest, on May 1st.  We’re looking for 15-20 volunteers to help at this event to assist with various activities, games, parking and elevator control.  Each volunteer will be provided lunch and a blue JCCH “tomodachi” t-shirt.

Date:   Sunday, May 1st

Time:   Morning Shift:  8:30am-12:30pm

Afternoon Shift:  12:00pm-4:00pm

Where:  Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii
