Hui’ilio Hawaii Kai Dog Walk

Aloha HJJCC Members,

Support man’s best friend and join in on the fun at the Hui’ilio Hawaii Kai Dog Walk! This event is put on annually by Hui ‘ilio Hawai’i, an organization which was founded to promote safe and friendly places for dogs and their people to play, and to promote responsible dog ownership. This organization was created to establish the Hawaii Kai Dog Park. The dog park has since become a reality providing a place for owners and their dogs to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hui’ilio Hawaii continues to help other dog groups get approval for parks in their respective districts, enhance the opportunities for dogs to get proper exercise and socialization, and to promote the licensing, vaccination, and good-behavior training of dogs.

What: Hui’ilio Hawaii Kai Dog Walk
When: Sunday, June 5, 2011
Time: 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Participant registration will start at 6:30am and the walk will start at 7:30am)
Where: Hawaii Kai Park & Ride
Parking: Hawaii Kai Towne Center (behind Tesoro)
Attire: Comfortable shoes, HJJCC t-shirt, shorts/pants

Volunteer Shifts Available:

*Water Stations (6:00am-9:00am)

*Set Up/Site Maintenance (5:00am-6:30am)

*Parking/Traffic Attendants (6:00am-9:00am)

*Course Marshals (7:00am-9:00am)

*Walk-In Registration (6:00am-8:00am)

Volunteers need to report by the time indicated next to each duty. Instructions will start at that time as well, so please be on time to receive them.

About Gregg Yamanaka:
Gregg is President and CEO of APEC 2011 Hawaii, a non-profit corporation formed for the purpose of assisting in the United States’ chairing of the APEC 2011 meetings in Hawaii. In his private business role, he is President of The LearningBiz Group, a training, executive coaching, and business process consulting firm; as well as President of Green Era LLC and BCG BioEnergy, two Hawaii companies specializing in green technology and renewable energy projects.

He is a graduate of Punahou School, Stanford University and the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law.

The format of the elections will be as follows. There will be four ballots:

First ballot: Executive Vice President

Second ballot: Community Development, International Relations, Management Development, and Membership Development Vice President

Third ballot: Secretary and Treasurer

Fourth ballot: Director at large (1) and Director at large (2) – nominees for two (2) separate Director positions will be selected
