The Cherry Blossom Festival holds the honor of being one of the longest, continually running ethnic festival in the State of Hawai‘i – originally started in 1953 by the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Created to celebrate Japanese culture and to enrich the lives of young Japanese-American women, the Cherry Blossom Festival continues to embrace the diversity of our community. The Festival also has an international reach, partnering each year to host five sister chapters from Japan: Kobe, Odawara, Kurashiki, Kojima and Tamashima.
Over the past 59 years the Cherry Blossom Festival has touched the lives of many. Public activities of the Cherry Blossom Festival begin in January and culminate every March at Festival Ball where a new Queen and Court are selected. We invite you to join us at our events!
There will be a meet and greet info session Tuesday, August 3rd at Fashionista’s Market located at 1185 Bethel St. from 5:00pm-7:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
